Check out the buttons. That is wierd looking.

I bet it won’t work with the old school DS. 
That’s just strange. I happened to have my DS out and tried the hand position. It doesn’t seem like it will be anything remotely like its big brother.
I just can’t see this taking off but I’ve been wrong before.
It took me a second to wrap my head around how it would be held but I think it will work. Left hand supporting the the DS by the base with the fingers on the buttons, right hand to strike the strings and you’ll be able to see the strum points. Should work fine but it doesn’t surprise me that it took them a long time to work out a good way to do it on a portable.
Aren’t the people who would be hardcore about this product be turned off by lack of a 5th button? I know I am.
Terrible idea, awful implementation.
It looks like the best possible port of the game onto a handheld.
That being said, it still looks like garbage. There’s no way to REALLY put guitar hero on a portable.
I’m thinking that it will be way more difficult this way, especially for players that are used to a full-scale version. When I get to more difficult songs, I tend to hit the buttons harder (which is generally counterproductive and causes your hand to cramp faster, but it’s habit at this point). If you hit the buttons harder on this, you are pretty much moving the entire thing that you are looking at for the notes and strumming, yes?
Plus, at least 40% of the fun of GH is the whole mental “Look, I can play guitar!” thing. With this port, you might as well be playing the keytar.
Or a trumpet with one extra button.
I’m gonna withhold judgment until I actually get to play the thing. That said, I kind of like the idea, simply because it’s one of very few portable rhythm games (The only other I’m aware of being Elite Beat Agents, which is good but I could use some new songs). The lack of a fifth key worries me a bit though, even though I’ve never played the game, because I’m a little afraid it’ll make it easier. Maybe they’ll make up for it with the touchscreen somehow.
… I want it to have Weird Al Polkas.
The biggest problem with this design is that what are the two reasons everybody plays Guitar Hero?
#1 to pretend to play guitar
#2 to show off to people
with this design (which might as well be called French Horn Hero) neither of these is possible. Just who is this going to appeal to?
