There’s this (as far as I can tell) pretty famous piece of (classical?) guitar music which, over here in Belgium, was used in a radio commercial recently. I figured out how to play it (yay!), but I have no clue what the name of the piece is, or who wrote it. So I’ll be needing your help.
It’s played on the three high strings (at least the way I play it): the G and B strings are open. The tab for the high E, which should be enough to recognize the song, in the first part is:
7-7-7-7-5-3-3-2-0-0-2-7-12-12-12-12-10-8-8-7-5-5
All notes are the same length. So who can help me?
I recognise it from your TAB (I can play it too) but I cannot for the life of me remember what it’s called. IIRC, it was on an album by John Williams (the guitarist not the composer).
I hear aspects, only aspects, of Ode to Joy. It could be a variation on the melody but… Anyway, tell us what the commercial is for; there are entire websites dedicated to answering “What’s the song from that commercial?”
I just want to say that I’ll answer this question–after I really wake up. Who can quote chapter and verse at 7 AM? I’ve been playing this puppy so long that I can’t remember, right now, the author and title. Someone else will post before then with the proper information, but remember: I answered first!
