Guitar Tablature Software Revisited

Because I can’t find the original thread, dammit!

In it, I believe it was Astro who recommended some software, but I can’t be sure.

Whoever it was, could you point me somewhere where I can learn about its use? I am an amateur guitarist with no sense of being able to pick up chords by listening to a song, so I believe this might help me.

I appreciate it!

I found the other thread for ya, haven’t tried any of the software though.

TAB

I’m not sure what you’re asking for, exactly. Are you looking for software to help you learn tab, or are you looking for software that makes writing it out easier? The guy at http://www.rootwitch.com uses something called Power Tab Beta Version .98 to create his tab files, which seems to work really nice. They produce Adobe Acrobat files which are really slick. You can click here and go to Overview/PowerTab to find a link to download it (sorry, there’s a few frames involved there). Tab learning software, I don’t know about. Tabs of songs, on the other hand, can be had by the truckload over here. Hope that helps some.

If you’re into acoustic, and aren’t familiar with Michael Hedges, then definitely check him out. Rootwitch.com has lots of transcripts for free download.

What I was after was a tutorial of how the software works befor I buy it, but I will check out the links you provided for me.
