No. Unless the manufacturer is a type of FFL that can sell to the public then there is no chance of retail sale unless through other FFLs. Having their product sold to a store is not a retail transaction.
It’s like Tesla sales in New Jersey. You can’t buy hem retail since by law cars must be bought through a dealer in that state and there are no dealers in that state. If New Jersey were the whole country (shudder) then Teslas would not be available for retail sale.
An actual retail store needs to have these available for sale to the public to trigger the law. That’s why this is a big deal.
So, you would support a witch doctor using similar methods to drive out an actual doctor who set up a clinic in his village, since it would start the clock ticking toward the day that people learn that medicine works and voodoo doesn’t, thus putting the witch doctor out of business.
(Period, not question mark. This is an inescapable logical inference from your statement, not a question directed to you. A reply is not required, though if you choose to offer one I anticipate great amusement at your attempts to squirm out of the corner you’ve painted yourself into.)
He also seems to have forgotten that Goldwater was saying that in defense of people who claimed Eisenhower was “a knowing dupe in the communist conspiracy”.
I don’t own any guns myself (yet), but I do like them and consider myself a “nut at heart.” But yeah, they are insane and it’s a shameful hobby to be in with so many nutters.
I urge everyone to take a good look— painful as it may be— at this, and to try to understand the mentality we are dealing with. These are the unfiltered thoughts of the self-styled patriot who loves freedom and loves his country and supports the rule of law, as long as society conforms in every way with what he personally wants. The moment he thinks he’s losing ground politically, he resorts to threats of actual violence, overt or implicit, against those who have broken no laws nor threatened him with harm. These are enraged, unstable people with an intense yet unfocused grudge. They can be extremely dangerous, but as fortune would have it, most of them tend to be timid keyboard warriors who are too cowardly to follow their depraved philosophy to its logical end.
Terr being more the petulant type given to idle threats, I doubt we have anything to fear. It’s okay to feel sickened by him, though. I’m slightly queasy myself, although that might be the palak paneer.
You don’t have a Constitutional right to threaten someone with death or arson. (No matter WHAT your reason is.)
Go ahead – call up an anti-gun politician and threaten to burn down their place. Then when the cops come, tell them you were just “defending their rights”. See how far that gets you. Dumbass.
(Besides, what about those people who want to buy a smart gun? What about THEIR Constitutional rights to buy a type of gun that’s perfectly legal? Huh?)
No but you do have a Constitutional right to bear arms, for self-defense. Which would be violated if “smart guns” are the only ones allowed on the market.
If there was no law that would violate the Constitutional rights of others by them being able to buy that gun, I would have absolutely no problem with them buying it.
