burpo - Drago’s doing wonderfully. The mobile vet dropped by yesterday to give me my rabies tags/licenses, which he didn’t give on Friday when he did the shots, because he was running late. He said he thought Drago looked like he was making a good recovery, and to call him on Monday if he was not 100%. (I don’t use the mobile vet for real issues, though. He comes out for horse issues and shots, but I use my small animal vet for illnesses/injuries.)
Annie (rescue doberman) got her stitches removed (mammary tumor removal), the vet thought she looked fabulous, and says he doesn’t know how she keeps pulling herself back from the brink of death/major surgery without a care. Last year Annie ate 10 lbs of Reese’s PB cups and was so close to death the vet said to either let him euthanize her, or take her home to die. Two days later she walked out on her own power. 7 months ago she had GDV, where her stomach twisted in her gut and she had to have emergency surgery and lost 1/3 of her stomach. He didn’t know if she’d live, but she proved him wrong. She’s been the most expensive free dog I’ve ever had.
