I was just wondering if anyone here had been to one of his exhibitions. What is it like? Is it disturbing? Is it even worth going?
I guess I should add some background. From what I know about him (which is pretty little) von Hagens essentially takes human corpses, dissects them and preserves them in interesting ways. I’m just reluctant to see the exhibition due to the graphic nature of it.
There is a “Gunther von Hagens” site (I won’t provide a link, but you can Google for it), and this BBC forum piece.
He wants to become a piece of his own art when he dies. Um – I don’t think I’d be going to any of the exhibitions, even if I could.
