Maybe I was assuming too much, but it seemed to me that Indygrrl’s comment about “complete free speech” was in response to the idea that expression could be regulated on intended/inferred message-content grounds (“I don’t believe desecrating the US of A flag should be covered by free speech”) rather than factors like venue/context (“crowded theater”), libel, copyright, and so forth.
And in that sense, I agree. Freedom of speech must include freedom for viewpoints we disagree with and find offensive, or there is no freedom.
