Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for.
Oh what the heck, I’ll throw in this oldie for those who haven’t seen it. One of the first covers of Jerry C’s Canon Rock:
That sent a few shivers down the old backbone
Thank you!
Two guys cover one of my favorite Steve Earle songs.
The guitars kind of overpower the vocals but “A” for effort!
Gabriella Quevedo, Smells Like Teen Spirit
Yeah, I like this guitarist!
Gabriella with Tommy Emmanuel Deviating a little from the intent of this thread by including a big name player, TE.
Well, if you’re going to go there, here is a video of an impromptu song warm-up for Tommy Emmanuel and Frank Vignola, supported by what sounds like a bassist and an additional guitar player (they are flashed at the end). But Tommy and Frank are swinging so damn hard and syncing up on wonderful twin harmony leads - it all has that fresh, totally spontaneous feel that makes it sound just amazing. Being crammed into the corner of some backstage space adds to the fun. Tommy is playing a '30’s Gibson-made Kalamazoo, the kind of guitar Robert Johnson mainly played. Tommy uses it a bit differently here ![]()

That girl singer who does Zep’s Whole Lotta Love has pipes. So interesting to see some of this stuff - I don’t seek out this type of stuff on youtube. That woman guitar player, Gabriella Quesada - great technique. Wish she played with more spontenaity and edge. I like a bit of slop, like what Tommy and Frank do even as they groove hard and play technically superhard things.
A British R&B singer with a single guitarist doing a cover of Prince’s How Come You Don’t Call Me Anymore. My favorite Prince song.
I really like this verion - better than Alicia Keys’ cover. If this woman took down the melisma (vocal gymnastics) a notch and just sang it more straight, it would be even better. But the simplicity of the single-guitar arrangement is closer to Prince’s piano-only arrangement. I am going to have to learn that part!

Alice Cooper cover.
[/QUOTE]Oh yeah! Its a bit weird to hear this in someone else’s voice. I’m used to either Alice or our tribute band front man. (He sounds a lot like Alice!) This guy can sing, for sure, but its his own voice without any attempt to do an exact cover. I’ve got to say, he did a really good job when you consider that he also did the quite tricky guitar licks too. Alice only has to sing!
Teenage Dream Katie Perry cover.
