luckily, i copied my OP when i noticed the “new reply” page was taking a while to load.
here we go.*
in A. Alvarez’ wonderful (i really can’t emphasize it enough) book Night, he mentions some low-level nobleman from sometime in the last few hundred years. this fellow wrote extensively of his dream life, having kept a dream journal for many years (i think).
he had (rather, claimed to have) a contiguous dream life. regular cast of characters, frequent appearances, continuous stroy lines.
any idea who this fellow was? Night is back in Philly, with the rest of my good books.
