Did this photo of President Bush and the turkey ever make it into newspapers over in the USA?
I can believe many newspaper editors would have felt uncomfortable running it. It just cracks me up every time I see it, so thought I’d post it here. That surprised expression!

Oddly enough the photo appeared not in some scurrilous tabloid, but right in the middle of the sober prose of the Financial Times, the UK’s equivalent of the Wall Street Journal.
Seeing it there amongst the interminable droning on about share prices, pensions, trade deficits, etc ad inifitum just added to the humour value for me.
I bet some junior sub-ed at the FT got bollocked to within an inch of his life!
So that’s why he pardoned the turkey! 
Gee, if only one of those Texas death-row inmates had known about that trick…
