I went down to the Paine Field General Aviation Day Saturday, and saw this:
Gweduck
From a distance I thought it was an old Grumman, which was the designers intention.
Very cool airplane. But I wonder about naming it after an animal that’s known for digging itself deep into the mud. I’d hate for that to happen in an aircraft.
Nice plane, but I agree the name has bad karma.
I was equally distressed when Toyota named a car Previa, sharing a name synonymous with an obstetrical disaster.
That is a cool plane looks like a Catalina just smaller
I like how the info sheet they filled out said “Not a Widgeon!”
And bad spelling. It’s G-E-O-D-U-C-K, trust me.
Well, they do pronounce it ‘gooey-duck’.
It’s not only spelled geoduck and pronounced “gooey-duck” but it looks like nothing so much as a giant, flaccid…
Be careful what you say about my college mascot.
We know exactly what it looks like, thank you very much.
Cool aircraft. Retractable floats. I love amphibians.
