Ha, Ha, Ha! Did you know Grampa had a car powered by Gasoline?

I wonder: I just posted a thread about my 7 year old nephew and his soccer chronicles. Sometimes I see him at home surfing his favorite internet sites…Disney, Starwars, Transformers etc…etc… I see how technologically savvy he is now, imagine the toys he’ll have in 10 years, 15…20…Where will his information come from? What will the world be like then?

What will my children’s children think of me? I drive a truck fueled with gasoline. When my grand kids are of age, around 2050 or so, what will they be saying about the cars of today?

I look at the Toyota Prius and and Honda Insight, and all the Green cars being produced now. I see the direction of fueling our cars moving to the bio-fuels. Will they even know a gas powered vehicle? Will our aircraft be run on something different?

What do you think your kids, grand kids, or great grand kids will be saying about this time in history? Ever wonder what they will say?

I look at things like the civil right movement…I cannot fathom a world where there were black and white drinking fountains. But I know such a thing was real. A mere 40+ years ago even.

Or a time when women were expected to stay home and cook dinner, raise the kids - no job for you! I can’t imagine that as I didn’t live it.

So what will our future kids say about now?

I think they will wonder how we all managed to individually drive the cars without constantly crashing the cars in to each other (as the cars of the future will drive themselves). There will be a fascination with paper road maps (save them up now, they’ll be worth something someday) , instead of electronic navigation.

They may wonder why there were so many fat, bald or otherwise unattractive people. You know, things so easily prevented or corrected with pills, machines or easy treatments. And they might be surprised at how short our lifespans were. Heart attacks at 70!? Jeez, why didn’t we just dissolve and remove all that nasty plaque from our arteries with nano-docs?
