m kinda freakin out got a tooth pulled tuesday and then my molar pulled friday im terrified of a dry socket also when the molar was removed there was serious pain the dentist gave me a total of about 6 shots the first few he thought i was numb but he went to pull and it seriously hurt i told him and he finally found the spot but that shot was 100% the most pain i felt i almost ran i told him i wanted to go to sleep he closed the door and ripped it out. My state my adrenaline was pumping it had both my legs bouncing when pulled the tooth my left leg kicked out and stopped my right continued to bounce as i was still in great pain he filled my hole with anesthetic which calmed me the next day about 36 hours in i light rinsed my mouth with the prescribed mouth was gargled and spit and i thinl i spit dead gum it was pink looking like hamburger meat. I hope it was the clot from my tuesday tooth or maybe just dead skin i have slight pain now my bone is not showing but i am very scared i will get a dry socket from that moment would i already know is that somethinf that hits u at that moment??? Also my inner thigh left leg fells somewhat liks a pulled muscle could these be related
I am not a dentist, but I’ve had teeth pulled, and I’ve suffered dry socket once.
Are you taking painkillers as advised by your dentist? (Usually paracetemol/acetaminophen and/or codeine - not so usually ibuprofen or aspirin, as these inhibit clotting).
Is there any swelling or redness in your cheek, neck or other areas around the extraction?
If you’re taking painkillers and are not in great pain, you probably have nothing to worry about. Dry socket is something that over the counter painkillers will not mask, but a little bit of pain and discomfort after a tooth extraction is normal.
Were you tensed up during the extraction procedure? If so, that’s probably why your leg hurts.
I was very tense as i was in serious pain and the toothache was ongoing for 9 day before i got it pulled. And the pain is mild i just didnt know if i should be worried i been hurting so long im just ready for it to end so i can eat again
But the pain does not mask well after dealing with the worst of the toothache the pain is just a annoying random pulse
Sounds like you’re probably OK.
Dry socket leads to infection which would present similar symptoms to a dental abscess - or indeed many other types of infection; intense and/or throbbing pain, swelling, local soreness, redness and sometimes red ‘tracking’ streaks, as well as fatigue and sometimes flu-like symptoms arising from the byproducts of the infection in your system.
If it starts hurting a lot, or you get swelling, soreness or redness adjacent to the site of the extraction, then you should act fast and get back to the dentist or the emergency department of a hospital. If that doesn’t happen, but you’re still concerned, it’s worth getting an urgent follow up appointment with your dentist on Monday morning.
Thanks you been a great help i been having my wife monitor it for me and reading more online stuff than i can handle so much that some of the time i thought the pain was in my head but the biggest thing for me was seeing what look like my gums in the sink after rinsing but that was my first almost real rinse as far as gargling goes
A article about a man named don had got a extraction done and some kind of way 3 bacteria formed and collapsed his lung and i was have acid reflux chest gas bc of something i drank didnt know at the time so i was kinda freakin out bc i had real bad breath smelled like blood and iorn to me so the article idk if you seen it but it had me freakin out
Bad breath is pretty normal in this context.
I would ease up on the gargling and rinsing - and fight the urge to probe the wound with your tongue.
Should a wait out my leg or seek medical help
From what you described, the leg problems sound like muscle strain, which should sort itself out in a few days.
