I remember reading a long time ago that the halberd (the Swiss pole-weapon which looked like a combination axe/spear/war-hammer/pick) could decapitate a horse with one swing! Does any one know if that is really true? That is a lot of cutting power! I also vaguely recall reading that the Danish Axe was capable of quite horrific and devastating cuts as well! Where can one go to find documentation of its use in battle? How long were the hafts on Danish axes–about four to five feet or longer? What was the biggest blade found of such an axe? Another question about halberds-- how long were the hafts on those things? Thanks for any information you can give me!
