I recently purchased something from a seller on half.com, which is a subsidiary of ebay. That means that a seller’s profile/I.D. on half.com is the same one/interchangeable with Ebay. Life ebay, you are invited to leave feedback about transactions performed on half.com.
Well, my recent purchase was cancelled by the seller, with no explanation. Trying to be fair-minded, I sent him an e-mail as to what happened, but received no response. A follow-up e-mail also received no response.
Should I leave feedback for this, or just let it go? What would you do?
You could leave a neutral feedback. Since you weren’t harmed financially (I assume), you could express your dissatisfaction in how the seller does business without affecting their rating.
It’s disappointing when that happens but as mentioned, you aren’t really out anything.
The way Half.com is set up is quite different than Ebay. Items tend to be listed for long periods of time and it’s more difficult to keep track of them.
I had all kinds of problems when Ebay bought Half.com. They required me to have the same user name and password for both. The blending process didn’t work the way it was supposed to and I didn’t always receive notification of a sale or even any e-mail at all.
Since feedback is permanent, I’d be kind and let it go.
bare - yeah, I think I’m going to just let it go and purchase it from another source. However, in the future, I am going to look a little more closely at ratings. It turns out this seller had 10% negative/neutral ratings, which is alarmingly high for ebay.
You should do a negative feedback not a neutral. This protects other buyers. Something like say, ‘Buyer cancelled, no explanation, did not reply to email’
Whether you go neutral or negative, describe the abrupt cancellation and lack of e-mail response. The specifics of what went wrong are the most helpful to prospective bidders.
