Halle Berry earns 1000 cool points

From this article:

It still doesn’t explain Gothika, but I think that’s pretty damn cool.

Well, that is just super-cool.

Good on her for having a sense of humor about it.

Bravo.

Classy and funny. Good for her. Her cool factor is definitely much higher.

Cool, but I think this actually makes her crap acting more confusing.

I thought the same thing when I read the article. Good for her for having fun with life. I rented Catwoman over the weekend, entirely because she is hot. Boy, did that movie suck.

She’s one of the few “winners” who’s been brave enough to accept the award.

It reminds of the time Eddie Murphy admitted that Best Defense sucked and he had only done for the money.

There’s book out about the Razzies: The Official Razzie Movie Guide by Razzie creator John Wilson.

It reads like something the crew of MST3K would have written.

According the Wilson, Bill Cosby, Paul Verhoeven, Robert Conrad, and Tom Green have all appeared at the awards show to accept their shame.

Well, Tom Green had to accept it. It was the only thing he qualified for…

Even better:

IMHO it’s more along the lines that any attention is good.

John Waters interviewed Pia Zadora once and asked her about her Golden Turkey award for Butterfly. She turned up for the ceremony and eagerly accepted the award. Her rationale was that “I’d hate to be nominated and lose.”

Are transcripts of the Razzie acceptance speeches available, anywhere?

Damn, that’s pretty cool. (I have found her to be kind of flaky in the past, but maybe I was wrong.)

Not really. Acknowledging she can make a carreer phoning it in doesn’t make it any less likely she’ll phone it in.

What it does make more confusing is her apparent hissy-fit over Storm’s role in the X-Men movies.

Overall it makes for a weird juxtaposition. Compare “I love Dorothy Dandridge the door has been opened” blah blah wah wah with “I demand tons of movie for awful acting in bad movies and I don’t care.” I guess I thought she meant a different door had been opened.
