Dopers, I need some help with a Halloween costume for work. My new employer has a costume contest and a department decorating contest, and both sound fun.
This also should be something that non-Americans people will “get”. My immediate coworkers are from the US, Nepal, Russia, Hong Kong, China, India, and Burma. Puns do not translate well.
I have a stash of things like wings, ears, and so on. I can do some sewing, but it all has to be by hand.
So I’m hoping the Dopers will come to the rescue with some ideas.
And please share your own favorite costume that you’ve worn or seen.

We have our Halloween outfits all picked out for trick-or-treating at Neutron Bomb Estates (the nearby housing development where none of the residents are ever seen outdoors).
Mrs. J. and I will be wearing our hazmat suits and masks, and our Labrador retriever will be wearing this wig and T-shirt.
One Halloween at my old job, one of the women showed up as a bunch of grapes: she was covered in purple balloons. Since she was slender, brown, and gorgeous, the effect was stunning. 
I always wanted to go as Sweetums the Ogre from the Muppet Show. That would take a huge amount of preparation, though.
Wings available? Are you blond(e)? You could go as Tinkerbell.
This could be especially memorable if you’re built like Rob Ford. 
Jackmannii – that might be steal-able…Ebola clean-up crew!
Sunspace – Muppets are good costumes, but agreed it would be a lot of work. And Tinkerbell is out…hate her! And I’m not slim (but not yet in Rob Ford territory!)
