Marion (grandma) was there, standing next to Michelle, with the orange vest on. The kids were probably at a school or friend’s party. If I read something about it I’ll post.

I would love to see him dressed up like Rush Libaugh in white face and handing out tic-tacs in big bottles marked “hydrocodone.” But I guess that’d be a bit inflamatory. 
Well, yeah, I thought that was kind of obvious.
That was my first response. (My second was, 'all the stores are full of Obama masks, why didn’t he wear one of those?) Michelle’s really rocking the leopard costume and getting into character. I love to see that and there are some great shots there. Being at the White House is probably exciting for the kids, but when their hosts have fun with it that must really make it great.
Fun fact: that’s not a guy in a Chewbacca suit. It’s Chewbacca. Chewie endorsed Obama in early 2008 and it was seen as key in Obama’s victory over Clinton in the Kashyyyk primary. In return Chewie was allowed to spend Halloween night in the Lincoln bedroom, and, well… it’s going to be closed to visitors for a couple of weeks.
I was thinking Lincoln, since he seems to admire him.
But, really, Right Wing reaction isn’t that hard to predict:
“Last night, Obama dressed up as [insert whichever great president you want, Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, you name it]. The nerve of him, equating himself with one of the greatest Presidents our country has ever seen! [Bonus points if said costume is of a Republican President]. This just goes to show you that he is putting his ego before the needs of our country! [Insert Obama-mania rant]”
See, not so hard, and I don’t even consume right wing news or other media! Just have to turn off your brain and type!
That was who that was? I could have sworn whoever was dressing up in the orange vest was dressing up as either Dick Cheney or Harry Whiddington, I couldn’t think of any other “good” costume that Orange Vest Lady could be.
You know what’s sad? These days, it’s hard to tell. I was trying to wrack my brain thinking “Is Freudian Slit one of those whackjobs?” because, nothing personal, sometimes I get people confused. Sorry.

To be fair, no whackjob has dared, that I’ve read, make a big deal about this. But then, I haven’t been reading the Freepers either. They went ballistic over Dover so I’m sure they had some stupid things to say about this too.
Nah. I’m a totally other kind of whack job. 
Poor guy, you KNOW that, SF and comic book geek that he is, he would’ve loved to have dressed up. And that he could’ve had a really kick-ass costume. I can just see him grumbling about stupid decorum of the stupid office.
But this is really cool. I loved the orange white house and all the spider webs.
