halloween music!

looking for good or even decent songs to drop onto my mp3 player for work on halloween…

so far i’ve got a couple alice cooper songs
dead mans party by oingo boingo
monster mash
ghostbusters
and the omen theme.

any other sugestions?

You could do the Exorcist music from Mike Oldfield’s “Tubular Bells”, but it’s not particularly spooky.

A brief clip of the Addams’ Family theme would be good.

I beg to differ!

The Pure Moods remix of that is particularly creepy, IMO. And the X Files remix.

Huh, I was sure that the OP, or at least the first respondent, would have mentioned Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.

Obvious choice: “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” by Bauhaus.

Werewolf of London

Another obvious choice: Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain.

Requiem For A Vampire

A Modest suggestion!

Gris Gris, the first album by Dr John the Night Tripper (aka Mack Rebennack), will creep you right out. And you can dance to it! Not specific to the season, but definitely otherworldly. I received the LP as a gift on Halloween of 1968…

Werewolf”–from the The Moray Eels Eat the Holy Modal Rounders will bring goosebumps.

Toss in Donovan’s “Season of the Witch” while you’re at it…

uhhh… wow… i kept waiting for the songs to start…something tells me your a yoko ono fan too…

“Pet Sematary” - The Ramones
“Season of the Witch” - Donovan
“Psycho Killer” - Talking Heads
“Thriller” - Michael Jackson

Moon Over Bourbon Street - Sting
Lullaby - The Cure
Legend of Wooley Swamp - Charlie Daniels Band
Swamp Witch - Jim Stafford
Witchy Woman - The Eagles
She’s Got a New Spell - Billy Bragg

Her rendition of GLOOMY SUNDAY…

I made myself a last.fm playlist a couple of weeks ago. I don’t think you can actually listen to a playlist unless you are a subscriber, but you can see what’s on it, and you might be able to stream individual songs I think.

Lots of horror punk, horror surf, stuff like that. A mixed bag though, some chosen just for their names, lots of movie names or theme songs, and a few spooky sounds thrown in for fun.

See the list here -
Ghoulish Grooves

My favorite time of year! I’m a huge Misfits, Cramps, and HorrorPops fan as it is. Messer Chups and Fantomas are pretty awesome too.
