Okay, folks, I’m going to fire off directions this week, in case I’m not able to after the LA-Dope. Right now I’m missing email add’ys for Scribble, Jman, Krispy Original, Aphrodite, and Chava. Once again, this is the list I’ve got:

I’m a newbie but a friend of porcupine’s. I’m probably going to come - can someone give me a ride from the airport? Porcupine can vouch for my bitchiness and dementedness, as well as the fact that I’m not an axe murderer except when provoked.

Well, cantatrice, welcome, first of all. When will you be arriving? We’ll have shuttles running all day Saturday. I’ll be there myself Saturday at about 11am (give or take), as I have to meet the lovely Sophie when her plane arrives.

cantatrice, I’m going to assume you are coming in on the same flight as porcupine (and Miss Creant and Tiggeril) on Friday evening. If that is the case, you are already taken care of. Thinksnow and I will meet you at the baggage carousels; you simply have to follow porc. She what both of us look like and should have our cell numbers.

If you are not coming in on the same flight, send me an e-mail rseaney@teamsigma.com with your flight poop and I’ll make arrangements necessary to get you to the festivities.

Right now it looks as if porc’s flight is $296 and the cheapest is $105. Luv u, porc, but not that much. I’m
going to check more thoroughly tonight.

Okay, you’ve got to put me back on the “maybe” list. Just got a bit of news (that I can’t go in to detail about right now, but believe me, y’all WILL be hearing about it, and probably in the form of a Pit thread) that may change things for me.

I wanna go. I really, really want to go. And I will do my best to get there. But I won’t know for certain for another day or two. I’ll keep ya posted!

Oh, and Strainger? I’ll get your costume to you. Don’t you worry. If I can’t deliver it myself, I’ll figger some other way. :smiley:

Okay, I have made my hotel reservations, so you can put me in the “yes” category. I still haven’t bought my costume yet, but now I at least have an idea of what I want to get.

I won’t be able to go to the Dopefest. Ecch.

As it turns out, I’m going to have to give a presentation on my research (such as it is–frankly, there’s just not much to report on yet) in early Nov. That, and my students have their midterms soon, so I’ll have a huge load of papers to grade. Not to mention that my lab’s annual “end of the insect catching season” dinner is that Saturday. There’s no way I could find or put together a costume and go to my lab dinner (I can’t just skip it) and blow a night on a party and get my stuff done. The fact is, it ain’t gonna happen. I’m sorry.

Crap.

Is anyone up for lunch or brunch in the campus area (my car is out of commission, and I don’t know when it’ll be fixed) on Saturday or Sunday?

Okay, scratch one more off the list.

I won’t be going. I’ll be starting a thread as to the reasons why (because things are gonna get a little weird here in the Underworld, and I’m going to need some moral support–but trust me, it’s not as bad as you might be thinking).

Strainger: I have spoken to Shadowfox, and she’ll be bringing your costume. The only reimbursement I ask is a picture of you in it. :smiley:

One more thing–I am going to ChickDope. No way in hell I’ll miss a fest that’s only a half-hour from my house. :smiley:

These directions, if I may say so, are exceptionally detailed, so no excuses for getting lost.

I’m putting together a big ass spreadsheet of flight info. Anyone needing a ride to/from the airport, should send the relevant info to me at rseaney@teamsigma.com.

I need Screen Names, Real Names (in case we need to page you), Airline, Flight Number, Day & Time, City of Origin, Cell Numbers (if you want to pass that along). If you want to give me your departure info, too, I’ll take it. It might also help if you let me know where you need to go after arriving in Columbus, a hotel or Thinksnow’s place.

I was doing a little research this morning on Daylight Saving Time (actually trying to figure out when it’ll be light again when I walk to work) and I found that we turn back the clocks at 2 a.m. on October 28. Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

One more hour of OhDope madness! How serindipitious! How shall we use this extra hour? We can probably rule out sleep right away. There’s always booze, but that might be repititious by that point. How to choose, how to choose…
