Halloween Pictures thread

Not exactly a costume, but 14 pumpkins… Pretty cool, we thought! http://www.flickr.com/photos/75073195@N00/283571397/

JetGirl, that’s an amazing pumpkin. Wow.

Thank you, Hazel. I had a lot of fun making it.

That is so cool. I’ve never seen so many jack-o-lanterns gathered in one place!

I wasn’t too imaginative this year - just a cop. However, some random guy my husband and I ran into on Saturday was pretty original and damned hilarious, so I’ll share that:

(Me, Random Guy, the husband)

#3
(Random guy and girl with enormous fake breasts - no nudity, but not particularly SFW)

I thought about bleaching my hair, but then remembered that I did it once in college and it looked like ass. Not at all what Spike’s hair actually looks like, a lot more orange-y.

But damn, that’s the first time anyone has ever told me i’m hotter than James Marsters, so thanks.

Oh good, an excuse to show off the costumes I made for my kids:

Whatsit Jr. and MiniWhatsit

Those are scary.

Some of mine are available by selecting “Pics” here. Technically there were two costumes, the one being a standard issue Restoration Era fop and the other a Scaramouche clad slightly later Commedia Dell’arte masked Louis XV era fop (same jacket), though unfortunately the blonde wig made me look more like an Anna Nicole ancestor or “The Vampire LeFat”.

My daughter is going to be a “hot chick” this year.

Here are some pictures from last year.

We tried it on the other day and (of course) it fits better. She loved it as was running around the house going “Peep-peep!”.

Should be a fun Halloween!

Sampiro’s back! Give a cheer!

“HUZZAH!”

I dunno…

A golf clap seems more appropriate for his fops.

golf clap

Ooo pictures!

My friend Josh and I didn’t coordinate our outfits at all; it was just a coincidence we both chose to be vampires.

My poor victim

All the ladies…and our lord

Well I started out as a wild west saloon girl, but it was chilly outside so I switched to my bull rider costume that I bought just for laughs a year ago.

I got a bunch of compliments on it and even had strangers taking my picture, but that thing was a bitch to walk around downtown in!

Here’s me as a Magritte painting and then, after several drinks and having appropriated part of my friend’s costume, as what Magritte would have painted had he been into paleontology

Hubby and I are not dressing up this year, but an acquaintance who runs a wildlife rescue organization has a lion costume for his kid. I can’t help wondering what a real lion would think of this.

Yes, I did a double-take, because I didn’t believe my eyes at first.

Welcome back, dear Sampiro.

Aw, so cute! Hubzilla, the hot chick costume is also too cute for words.

Miltan, your costume rocks. I have a thing for Margritte paintings. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sampiro! Yay!

My birthday is in October and one year my friends carved pumpkins that spelled out h-a-p-p-y-b-i-r-t-h-d-a-y-g-i-g-i --one for every letter! It was a brilliant effort. And near the library where I will be giving out candy, they do a house and yard with 100s of jack o’lanterns carved by anyone in the community. Very cool.

I was going to do up a fat belly and cut out felt animal hands, to go as a Pregnant Pause, but will fall back on the all black including the over the head mask that looks like you have no face, and then a jolly jester hat.

Well, this year I dressed up as Cinder-Ellen for work. This is the “before the Fairy Godmother” mode. I’m holding a pumpkin with 2 mice. It went over very well.

Last year, I had two costumes; one for work & one for my daughter’s Girl Scout Halloween party.

For the GS party, I was Mother Nature, which was fun, but I thought it might get in the way at work.

So at work I was Tony the Cable Guy. (My boyfriend Tony works for Comcast, so I appropriated a couple of things & off I went.)

All in all, I think Halloween is my favorite holiday. My first Halloween at work, I was the only one who dressed up (besides one of the doctors). Last year, there were 3 of us. This year, there were 6. I’m feeling pretty comfortable with the trend - I’ll have to see what I can encourage next year.
