Halloween vs Friday the 13th

Vote for your favorite between the original 1978 *Halloween *movie and the original 1980 Friday the 13th movie.

Open spoilers are ok in this thread. I voted for Halloween. I like the buildup of the bogeyman in Halloween. We don’t even know who the killer is in the original Friday the 13th movie until late in the movie. That would have been fine, but are we really supposed to think it is Crazy Ralph?

I do like the ending of Friday the 13th a bit better than the Jamie Curtis scream fest at the end of Halloween. Betsy Palmer does a great job as the crazy mother out for revenge.

No contest: Halloween. Anyone who says otherwise has no taste in film.

Halloween just never did it for me. I know it’s the one that STARTED it all, but it doesn’t live up as well. The interesting thing about the first F13 is that it’s the only one that actually has a mystery element to it. All of the sequels (well, not so much part 2) have almost no story line at all.

What MTCicero said. Friday the 13th is barely a movie at all.

Friday the 13th, easily. I haven’t seen a Halloween movie I liked yet.

For the original versions, no doubt Halloween. F13 didn’t even really get going until part 3D.
I know you didn’t ask, but for the remakes, Friday the 13th. Halloween remake is utter trash, Friday the 13th remake, it’s watchable at least.

Halloween, by a mile. No contest.
