OK, so I bought Halo 2 for the Xbox the other day at a used game store.
I fired it up and while it “speaks to” me in English, it displays text in Chinese*.
I can’t figure out how to have the text show up in English.
Can anyone help?
*I don’t actually know what characters they are as I only know the English alphabet.
Looks like you’ve got a pirated Chinese copy in the US. Interesting. There is probably a menu setting, but other than that I got no help for you…sorry.
That’s what I was wondering; but then I thought if it were a pirated Chinese copy, would the audio be in English?
Yes. It could also be a Japanese version of the game.
OK, where’s the dumbass smiley when you need one? This’ll have to do: :smack:
It turned out to be a setting on xbox itself. I’ve owned the freaking thing forever, and this has never been a problem. There’s a language setting that I didn’t know about BECAUSE IT WAS IN CHINESE!
If you power up the unit w/o a DVD in the console it would bring up a menu with four choices, only one of which was in English. That one choice said something about Online Game Play. I naturally assumed the OTHER THREE choices were also about online game play but in different languages. Nope. It turns out that under the chinese option 4, and the 3rd choice down on the next menu give me a language choice setting. ~sigh~ all those menus are in English now
