I’m mildly surprised that there hasn’t been a thread created for possibly the most anticipated title of the past two years. In any case, it comes out Tuesday to much fanfare.

It’s not released in Australia until midnight on Monday. My boyfriend is counting the hours. I am looking forward to many nights alone … but that’s means we’ll actually get it before YOU! (insert maniacal laughter here) - just jokes, I’m not a gamer, I don’t get it. But enjoy - as my man will be online playing until he gets blisters.
My shiny new 360 arrived today. I am all prepared. 
I was in my local EBGames about a month and a half ago picking up a pre-ordered 360 game. The clerk looked at my record and saw that even though I have a 360, I had not yet put any money down on Halo 3.
Him: Want to roll your reserve credit over to Halo 3?
Me: Nope, I’m not really a fan of the series.
Him: You don’t like Halo?
Me: Nah, it’s not my thing.
Him: But everybody will be playing it on Live on the 25th!
Me: Well, everybody but me.
Him: You’ll be left out!
Me: I’ll manage. I have a Wii.
I feel like every time I go in there now, they’re pointing at me whispering, “That’s the one I told you about, the guy that doesn’t like Halo!”
So they do exist. wonders

I dun get how someone wouldn’t want to get it. Maybe they think it’s been hyped too much?
As a non-console gamer, I’d like to register my continuing disgust that Halo was released for PC, and that’s the last I’ve seen of the series.
I used to love it. Fuckin’ 360.
Back in the spring of this year, I splurged on an 360 in anticipation of the Halo 3 release. We’ve been using the hell out of it since then (I blame the Lego Star Wars games and Oblivion, mostly) and we may have already killed our 360 
. We have a pre-ordered copy of Halo 3 down at our local Game Stop, and I really hope I will at least be able to take it for a whirl. But I foresee some repairs in our future.
I didn’t pre-order, I figure I can wait a few days. But I’m getting it.
I actually took the day off on Tuesday so that I can play it all day long. I’ll be picking my copy up at midnight and playing it until I drop from lack of sleep. I guess I should have taken Wednesday off too.
This just in… Jack Thompson attempts to get Halo 3 banned as a “public nuisance.”
It’s crazy how much promotion they’re putting out for this game.
I’m very excited about it.
Not out in the UK until the Wednesday though.
4 player co-op campaign sounds great.
Maybe with backup I can actually complete a Halo game on Legendary!
Forge sounds like it might be fun as well.
Last game on Legendary was some work. Probably the hardest battle in the game is the second boarding of Covenant troops in the first stage. I think beating that on Legendary is my biggest video game accomplishment this far. Gears of War on Insane was probably next.
By the way, the amount of enemies adjust to how many players are playing co-op, I believe.
Man, that’s going to be some work. I can tell you that right now.
The hype doesn’t bother me too much. I blogged a few days ago that Bill Gates could interrupt the Super Bowl with a press conference announcing Halo themed denture paste and it wouldn’t bother me. (He hasn’t yet, has he?)
My lack of interest is mainly due to the genre. I can definitely see why shooter fans are so worked up though.
I planned on buying a 360 and H3 on Tuesday if I could scrounge up the cash. Then I lost some 60 dollars in tips at work tonight. I don’t know what happened to it.

Halo 3? It’s Bungie, sure, but… meh.
I got Halo bundled with my original Xbox and loved it. Then I got Halo 2 and never really got into it. It was ok but I didn’t finish it. So, mark me down as someone who won’t be getting Halo 3 straight away, but may if the reviews are enticing.
Chalk me up as another one, though I’ll remain mysteriously ambiguous to my reasons since no one wants someone turning up in a thread like this to complain.
