I believe he did leave the Convention because he was frustrated with the fact that his two other delegates from New York, Robert Yates and John Lansing, Jr., kept outvoting him. I do remember he came back to sign the Constitution.
Anyway, thanks for the info.
The other two delegates at first outvoted him, and later left the convention altogether on June 30, 1787, leaving the New York delegation without a quorum, hence and without a vote. Seeing no point in staying, Hamilton too left. He returned to the convention on August 13, at Washington’s bidding, and served on the Committee on Style.
