By the way, is there any word on when Episode Eight should be released?
December 15

It does sound like a difficult decision and some tough times were had with the crew.
I know Ron Howard has struggled recently, but I do think he will be able to use the footage shot and shoot his own stuff that will make a pretty good movie.
Disney must be giving him and Kasdan money enough to shoot more footage than expected so they can fill in any gaps that they need to. This firing must cost them at least $25 million, probably more.
I think the Ron Howard decision is brilliant. He appeared in “American Graffiti” directed by Lucas, and co-starring Ford. Now he’s directing a movie about Ford’s character and overseen to some degree by Disney/LucasFilm. Interesting twist of fate.
At any rate, I think it will be a fine movie if Disney’s first couple attempts resonate with this film. The Star Wars movies are going to come fast like the Marvel movies, people. Disney wants to cash in.
It’s got a title!
Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Not surprising. I was secretly hoping for “Nerfherder.”
I actually think this could be good, but I do hope some more original Star Wars story movies come out at some point in the future.
I wonder if they are still going for an Obi-Wan or Bobba Fett movie. I guess those are things, but I don’t care that much about them.
That’s SCRUFFY LOOKING Nerfherder to you.
*Solo: The Pre-Scruffy-Looking Years

Solo: The full extent of his financial imaginings
Solo, but Neither Hope nor Napoleon
The promotional branding with disposable plastic cups just writes itself.
Cool Han, Luke!
Totally stolen from the Internet:
Ron Howard: “We have a great title for the new Han Solo movie.”
Ron Howard [narrating]: “They didn’t.”
Solo: Between Acne and Blaster
Swimming to Alderaan. Directed by Ron Howard, this one man show has Solo seated behind a desk with little more than star chart as a prop, Solo focuses on a small role he had in the “The Kessel Run.”
Portrait of the Star Pilot as a Young Man
Indiana Jones in Space… ridiculas.
Odds on this movie being good? 50/50 at best, I think.
