Hey, now, Rogue One was pretty good.
ETA: I see that post was made before Rogue One was released! Understandable sentiment, then.

C’mon, guys. If the producer is riding you rough and not letting you do things your way, you don’t get yourself fired.
You just let the world get a Star Wars movie where the starfield comes up at the end, the closing fanfare hits, and the text “Directed by ALAN SMITHEE” comes up in big block letters.
George Lucas insisted on a scene with 9 year old Han building the Millenium Falcon in Watto’s junk shop.
Were leaning too far into straight comedy, apparently: 'Star Wars': Why the Han Solo Directors Were Fired
How is a project of that size and budget allowed to get that far into production before someone realises the entire feel of the film is wrong?
It is a puzzlement. Hopefully there won’t need to be too much reshooting - careful editing can make a big difference (that, and removing all the “Yackety Sax” music cues).
Studio shocked to discover directors known exclusively for making great comedies were making a comedy movie. News at 11.
Han Solo is a dick, not a misogynist. He treats Luke and Leia equally: like he thinks they’re morons.
I’m rather surprised at the directors who don’t seem to realize that Disney’s movie division, regardless of the nameplate the execs operate under, run a very tight ship. I mean, go for doing your own thing your own way; but it should be obvious that Disney will require you to do their thing in their way.
I heard that they’re in discussions with Joel Schumacher, but he’s insisting on putting nipples on the Wookiees.
Maybe we’ll get to see the Kessel Run…in under twelve minutes…
How many?
If you want to sell tickets, you have to give the moviegoing public what they want.
Looks like it will be Ron Howard.
So the movie’s going to be heartwarming…
Wonder who Clint Howard is going to play.
Put him in a dirty robe and he’d fit right into a cantina scene. No CGI or facial appliances required.
He’s certainly dropped in quality over the last 10 years or so, but I do hope that he can do a good job with this movie. I’m sure he is being paid well, but kudos to him anyway for stepping into a movie with only 3 weeks or so left in shooting. I imagine Disney will give him money for additional shooting based on what he and his colleagues think needs to be in the story.
I bet once he looks at the movie as it is right now, he’s going to realize what a mess it is. I hate to say it, but I bet it is pretty bad.
I think he can deliver an adequate movie, if not a good one.
I hope he narrates it. I can see it now.
Ron Howard’s voice: “As we all know, Greedo actually shot first.”
White screen with black writing: Footage not found.
I would have thought that was inevitable, after they made Kylo “Hi, I’m Matt” Ren Episode Seven’s “Big Bad.”
