I see some people have hinted for revisions and he hasn’t bit. Maybe got tired of it.

Bilder: HTML is turned off, so we can’t use that to create colored text. At the time that that thread was created, it was still turned on. Currently, aside from links, we’re restricted to Model T colors (any that you like, as long as it’s black).
Just type [[sub][/sub]url=""] in front and behind to turn it blue.
It’s not hard, and it’s not a link, really, is what Show_Biz found out in his thread.

No, I didn’t bother opening the designated links because it seemed to me that Saint Joan’s question could have been interpreted in a different way, and that Tuba might have failed to see this (I didn’t see that Louie had addressed her question at all, in either interpretation) and in my haste to possibly assist a newbie, I didn’t bother to click on any links.

It isn’t blue - it defaults to the SDMB main page, which is purple if you have accessed that page recently. Ergo, if you’re trying for blue it isn’t necessarily that color.

It looks like a link. Because that’s what it is, it’s just an undesignated link to the default page. Therefore, it’s pointless and annoying.

This is a new rule here, I take it? I seem to recall hundreds of threads that got hot here and then moved to the Pit. I thought that’s what Irishman had in mind.
I noticed that the same day TVeblen came up with “2. You have a wife? Human? Animate?” Sounds insulting to me.
I also have to wonder why you didn’t complain that he was calling people goofballs.

Actually, the question was “How do we get the colored text, like on that one topic on all the boards?” and the answer is: It’s easy {url=""}blue text{/url} or blue text
Unless the SD techs decide to change the color of hyperlinks back to black…
And why would they do that? Just so that we have one less way to highlight text? Because you don’t think you would ever use it? And doing so would make everyone mad because they could no longer see links. Not a very attractive plan. (Not that anything surprises me any more around here.)
I dunno. Why do people want to change the color of their text? So many questions, so few answers.
