Happiness is...

rolling your clock back an hour.

I’ve tried lots of things, and I’ve found that Charlie Brown had it exactly right. Happiness really is two kinds of ice cream.

realizing you subtract like a 4 year old, and finding $30 extra dollars in your checking account balance!

. . . or playing the drum in your own school band.

avabeth, for me it’s the interstate, a nice day, the windows down and the Allman Brothers. But I feel you.

A mouth full of excellent chocolate followed by a sip of hot tea.
A chocolate chip cookie.
A bag of M&M’s.

  • clear blue skies, warm weather, a convertable and the weekend ahead of you.

<checks clock. Damn, still three more hours until I can leave>

Fitting into pants that are two sizes smaller than what I was wearing 6 months ago…

Smelling my daughter’s head when she wakes up.

Seeing old friends in #straightdope and laughing

Summer vacation

…partly cloudy, 5 to 10 mph wind, 75 degrees F outside, and nothing to do all day but pack a picnic and enjoy the weather.

…a mango for breakfast.

I’m in agreement with Quantum Butterfly.

Tiramisu.

There are other things, of course, but none of them are as reliable inducers-of-happiness as tiramisu. Mmmmm … then again, a good mango does a great job too.
I’m hungry.

T. Slothrop, that sounds wonderful

Mangoes, kiwis, and water…Those things are enough to make me a happy panda.

Smoke weed!

…bacon.

… being a poor student, out of work for four months with students loan long having been dried up, living on table scrapes, only to land the perfect job for the summer.

Go me! I can pay my rent!

One lousy sentance. How could I mess up one lousy sentance? knock that rouge “s” a word over, and replace scrapes with scraps.

Picking and blowing your nose so you can breath easily again.

Don’t tell me you haven’t had this occur to you at some point.

-NO more AP’s (Happiness --> next friday 15.00)

  • An afternoon at a quiet pool (no screaming childeren), nice temperature and people serving you drinks. (Also don’t forget a good book you can dream away with)

I may have to harm you all, now. I have a voice student singing that very song right now, and it’s lovely (but also driving me batty.) I guess I’m going to be spending the day singing:

*I’m so happy! That little red-headed gril dropped her pencil. It has teeth marks all over it. She nibbles her pencil. She’s human! It hasn’t been such a bad day after all.

Happiness is finding a pencil
Pizza with sausage
Telling the tiiiime…

Happiness is… learning to whistle
Tying your shoe
For the very first time…

Happiness is playing the drum in your own school band…
And Happiness is walking hand in hand…

Happiness is… two kinds of icecream
Knowing a secret
Climbing a tree…

Happiness is, five dif’rent crayons
Catching a firefly…
Setting him free…

… and so forth and so on.

Very true, still.

I guess happiness is about little inconsequential things. And people we love.

::: takes the opportunity to hug lno, because, you know, sometimes it’s good to remind people they make you happy :::

(All together now… “Awwww…”)

A whirlpool. Everything quits hurting for a while.

Kitty loving, either on their humans or when they’re washing each other’s faces. It’s so cute, they take turns with the earwashing. Apparently it feels WONDERFUL to get one’s ears washed, and it’s wonderful to wash another’s ears.

Kitty races. Our cats really enjoy running at top speed all over the house. And kitty wrestling. WILL the boy cat never learn that if he pounces on the girl cat, she’ll pounce right back? Or is that the reason that he pounces on her?

Good chocolate.

Lighting bunches of candles, when the power is still on. (If the power is off, it’s not fun any more, just a chore.

Trading backscratches with someone I care about. Or back rubs.

Elenfair, IMHO, there are worse songs to have stuck in your head…
