Happy 58th , Weird Al

58 years ago, the world was first blessed by the presence of Albert Matthew Yankovic.
The “Weird” came later.

Happy Birthday To You

Still should be in the Hall of Fame

I thought he was about 10 years older than that. He’s just been around for so long.

We love you, Al.

What the hell? No Google Doodle for Weird Al’s birthday?

I remember his first appearance on Dr. D, way back in 1980 when he played Another One Rides The Bus; it was one of the most amazing things I had ever heard. It’s claustrophobic and strained and tense and rocking like all hell. I’ve met Al a couple of times (I once gave him a CD of my music, which I’m sure he tossed in the trash immediately) and he’s always been friendly and engaging.

Happy birthday, Weird Al!

And yet, he looks 10 years younger.

Weird Al is how I even know some popular songs. I almost literally only know “White and Nerdy”, “Amish Paradise”, “Yoda”, and countless others. His versions aren’t just parodies, they are superior to the originals.

Love Weird Al so much. His TV show and movie were amazing. UHF should have a sequel today. I’d be there day one.

Funnily enough, that song was on last night’s episode of The Walking Dead. I’m sure it wasn’t a coincidence.

If you see him in concert, you’ll see that he’s in great shape. I understand he’s a vegetarian who does yoga.

The Mrs. and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing him in concert. He really delivers.

Hippo birdy, Al!

I saw his first TV appearance on the Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder. His drummer “Bermuda” Schwartz accompanied him by beating time on Al’s accordion case.

FUCKER’S ONLY A YEAR OLDER THAN ME? Why am I not famous and rich with a blonde on each arm and my dick in a pail of molasses?

Um, does this make him a Libra or a Scorpio sun sign?

Relax, he’s only rich and famous.

So would you say we should go see him when he comes to town in a few months? I heard he’s doing his original works, no parodies, in this concert. BTW his opening act is Emo Philips; I might go just to see Emo. He’s looking much older, but is only three years older than Weird Al.

I adore Al. Is there any song in the whole world finer than Harvey the Wonder Hamster?

I’ve really been enjoying one of his latest efforts, the Disney XD show “Milo Murphy’s Law.” He voices the main character, a descendant of that Murphy. Everything goes wrong around him, but he takes it in stride and remains upbeat and optimistic. The show is smart, funny, and even has a show-within-a-show that’s a riff on Doctor Who.

Happy birthday, Al!

Crap, I just now found out that Weird Al is exactly a year (well, 364 days) younger than I am.

I did not need to know that.

Alfred.

Should have worn my glasses.
