Let’s here it for one of the century’s top icons!
Fascinating, chameleon of a guy, anchored on songs that endure. A great song and dance man.
I remember when you could still understand what he was singing. Good times.
Happy Birthday, Bob, may your wishes all come true.
I recently read Chronicles: Volume One & have been kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Bob is smart & funny & can write! (duh)
No Direction Home is available on Netflix Streaming. Lots of Folkie Memories, plus hostile Brit audiences who hated his “betrayal.” (Hostile enough to make me understand why he used that motorcycle accident as an excuse to “drop out” for a while.)
A brief but cool video portrait of His Bobness through the years.
Haven’t noticed this thread yesterday, so I’m a bit late to the party, but happy birthday anyway, Bob. I know it’s somehow futile to make absolute statements about an area as subjective as art , but IMHO he’s the most important figure in popular music of the 20th century. Life (at least my life) would be much poorer without his music.
