Blogger James Lileks’ dog Jasper is (approximately) 19 years old!
Nineteen! Wow. Good dog!
I’ve followed Lileks’ blog for close to a decade now, and I’ve corresponded with him enough times that I imagine he recognizes my name now. Very glad that Jasper is still around.
And Jasper has passed. 
I sent Lileks a sympathy email.
Jasper was a great dog.
Damn! Now I’m sobbing like a baby. What a beautiful eulogy.
And Lileks sent me a personalized response. I’m sure he had thousands of emails, so he probably scripted it, but even so, a class act all the way.
And the Lileks have a new puppy! His name is Scout.
