I was watching the “Bobo” episode of The Simpsons when I noticed that the calander said that Sept. 15 is Mr. Burns birthday.
How old does this make him?
106
Smithers probably went shopping for a giant cardboard cake and speedos today.
Wikipedia says that according to the “Fraudcast News” episode, Mr. Burns was born in 1881, which would make him 126. However, in “The Mansion Family,” Mr. Burns is named Springfield’s Oldest Man after the previous record-holder dies after being kissed by Britney Spears. The oldest man was 108, but if we were to take the 1881 date, Mr. Burns would have been 118, making him ten years older than Springfield’s Oldest Man. However, seeing as Bart has been 10 for the past 18 years and Homer is perpetually in his mid-30s, it’s very difficult to find actual logic in the world of The Simpsons. What we can say is that Mr. Burns is old.
This goes to show that the writers of long-running TV shows care much less about such details than the people who watch them. Is Apu from India or Pakistan? No viewers can know for sure, and none of the creators really care.
To the OP; one of my favorite musical celebrity appearances was when the Ramones sang “Happy Birthday” to Mr. Burns.
“Hey I think they really liked us.”
-cuts to Burns and Smithers-
“Smithers, have the Rolling Stones killed.”
“But sir, those-”
“Do as I say!”
Well, considering he’s Hindu, and attended college in Calcutta, I think it’s safe to say he’s Indian. Of course, I haven’t watched the show regularly since about the 9th or 10th season, IIRC.
Yes, but in one of his early appearances they said he was from Pakistan.
I’ll field that one. Let me ask you a question. Why would a man whose shirt says “Genius at Work” spend all of his time watching a children’s cartoon show?
And in the season two (1990) episode “Simpson and Delilah” (which I just saw a few days ago), Burns stated that he was 81.
And in "Who Shot Mr.Burns: Part 1: Skinner remarks that he is 104.
I’ve arranged for all the people of Australia to hold candles spelling out a special birthday message for him…
Montgomery Burns was born the day Springfield’s state joined the Union.
It still cracks me up that Mr. Burns is so old that he answers his phone “Ahoy hoy!”. Ah Alex Bell, if only you had won the war of how to answer the phone…
Logic would say so, however…
As I said, they don’t really care. Why should they? Even less so the age of Burns. The point is that he’s ridiculously old-fashioned.
Boo-urns! Boo-urns!
How old is Mr. Snrub?
“Excellent”
“Hey, I think they liked us!” cracks me up every time.
14 years later, three of the Ramones are dead, while the Rolling Stones remain at large. Smithers apparently did his job correctly.
Smithers, I’m not a big believer in suicide, but…if you wish to kill yourself for my amusement…
Recall that Burn’s mother is/was also alive, so she’d be in her 120’s…
