It’s Thursday, August 4 over here already, and August 4 is President Obama’s birthday. Today he turns the big 5-0. I always remember Obama’s birthday, because he shares it with my wife, who is older of course.

I’m not looking forward to turning 50 this year, but the fact that I’m still younger than the POTUS is heartening. It makes me feel less old.

I thought I’d be a lot older before we had a president younger than I am. I gotta say, he has aged a lot these last couple of years, like most presidents seem to. But he still looks pretty good for 50.

Actually, I was discussing this with a friend, and we decided that this year I’m turning 37. It was a tossup between that and 8.
My initial reaction at the time: w00t!!! one of US is now President!
My second reaction: Oh $#!&, one of US is now President???
