Howdy all!
This is a purely vain, self-congratulatory thread so if you have any moral objections to these type of things, you may want to sneak out now. Go ahead, I won’t mind. 
Now on to the wanking:
One score and a dozen years ago today, the universe (at least from my subjective point of view) began in an elevator in the Dartmouth Regional Hospital. While I don’t actually remember this, over the intervening years I have come to be decidedly in favor of it.
To celebrate this auspicious event, today I became a full fledged member of the SMDB. Although I don’t actually post much, I figure since I have been reading these boards for years (and sucking up my fair share of bandwidth) I thought I should kick in the five bucks and help keep it going. Heck, the fact that without these boards I never would have begun my current obsession with the Discworld novels is worth the price of admission!
So basically this post is about the fact that it’s my B-day today (April 7th for anyone reading this tomorrow, not that I expect this thread to last that long!) and the fact that I wanted to see if the “Charter Member” tag actually shows up beside my name.
Now, back to my regularly scheduled lurk…
