Happy Belated Birthday Whybaby!!!
What a cutie!
Isn’t she just the sweetest little thing?
Remember you get to adjust her milestones and growth to take account of her prematurity until she’s two, so she’s actually ahead of where she should be if you take into account she’s actually 17 weeks behind the other one-year olds!
Happy Birthday Caileigh!
I have a story I meant to share in your original thread. I have a surrogate grandmother, who helped raise me and shaped a large part of who I am. Today’s her birthday, actually. I remember having just gotten off the phone with her when I read your original thread. She was two months premature and weighed barely 3 pounds. Given that this was 1936, no one expected her to survive the night. Or the next day. Or the next week. Or the winter. She’d be blind. She’d be retarded. She’d spend her life in an institution.
Well, she just turned 70, and aside from a pair of glasses she never had any after effects. She’s living it up in a retirement community down south and has always joked about how she’s been living on borrowed time all these years.
I read your original thread, thought of her, and hoped your daughter would be the same kind of miracle. I’m utterly delighted that turned out to be true.
Wow, now I got the soft fuzzies - she is so cute!!!
She’s adorable!! Such a happy baby! It also brought back memories of my bald daughter who didn’t start growing hair till she was 2. Headbands and frillies were the only thing that stopped: “awwww, what’s his name??”
Just think - you’ve got a whole year till the Terrible Twos!
A friend just told me that foods rich in Omega 3 & 6 will help prevent ADD which premies can be susceptible to.
Btw, I realized I hadn’t actually wished Caileigh a Happy Birthday!!!
