Is anyone else sorta of relieved that Christmas is pretty much over? Now I feel like it is time to get on with our lives. I am sure that some of you are happy to be getting some relative out of your homes.
So are ya happy or what?

yep I hate christmas. Bah humbug.
I think someone needs a hug <:)>
I’m just happy I don’t have to hear “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” for another year.
Tha reminds me. While shopping the other day, I came across a guy who… well, let’s say he was “mentally challenged.” Whether his state was due to a physical impairment, drugs, or mental illness, was unclear.
He was singing loudly to himself:
“My grandma got f**ked by a reindeer…”
And making up corresponding lyrics as he went along. It was weird.
But it never started…
I’m so damn glad it’s over I almost busted into tears earlier. This has been the worst Christmas season (excluding the actual day of Christmas) ever.
Only 364 more shopping days left, thank GOD.
Yepp…I’m glad it’s over. This year has been a pain in the ass altogether, including the wonderful family Christmas. Bring on 2004 and hurry up.
You whose Xmas is over I envy. Mine is a day (well, less than 24 hours, but a calendar day) away from being over. AND I have a 450-mile trek to make, followed quite probably by a whole bunch of standing in for my lovely fiancee, who is currently not in any danger of being exposed to my (well-meaning but intense) family in the near future.
I will be happy when it is over. Right now … ugh.
Yup, pretty much. Now it’s time to rest up and prepare for the malls and a potluck tomorrow. (and meeting my sister’s friend Melissa)
I am so happy that’s over with.
I’m here in the apartment with my mother, stepfather, and my two little brothers (ages 9 and 7). First, the boys wake everyone up at about 7:30 in the morning so they can rip open their presents (this is especially harsh since we finished wrapping presents only about 5 hours prior to that). Then they tear through dozens of packages in about 15 minutes, muttering a bare minimum of "thank-you"s. Then we hook up their new game system (this year it’s a Gamecube).
Then they fight for about 10 hours while the adults clean up, make threats, and try to nap. At some point a big ham dinner is cooked, which only leaves more of a mess (we should’ve ordered Chinese food).
After dinner, the adults see who can sneak off to bed first, thus avoiding the clean up. The losers of this race spitefully refuse to clean or even put the food away – so there.
Then the kids fight and make messes for several more hours. A handful of new toys are lost or broken. Anything with many vital pieces has been hopelessy scattered. All important instruction manuals were lost within five minutes of hitting the fresh air.
Now it’s just past 1 AM, and the 9 year old is finally in bed with the TV off (the 7 year old went down about an hour before). Tomorrow, three adults will spend four hours cleaning and sorting.
For now, I’m drinking beer. I think I have about $5 worth of pot stashed away, so maybe when I’m sure the oldest is asleep I can finally relax.
I did get some nice books, though.
Even though I had to work, it was a great Christmas for me and I will spend a few days basking in the “afterglow” of what turned out to be a wonderful Christmas.
I usually get pretty depressed this time of year, but because of some very good friends, that didn’t happen this time and I’m grateful for that.
So even though it’s over, it gives me something to look forward to next year and remembering how great this year was will help me again then.
Quasi
Yup, although it never really began. I’m not much of a holiday person.
Hah. Bum hug.
hehehe
Yep, I’m glad it’s over. [for the most part]
Every year I promise myself to run and hide, around Christmas time, but I never do.
Now waiting for that godawful 31th of December.
This Christmas was OK. About what I expected all things considered.
Actually, I enjoy the few days following Christmas. The trees and decorations are still up, and there’s still a holiday feel in the air. But the mad hustle to find correct gifts and meet obligations is over.
