Hello, dear Dopers! I have a milestone to announce. I am getting married tonight to Arrendajo. He’s a swell guy in every way, and I dig him immensely. Earlier this week we scooted on our Vespas to Bandon Oregon from Eugene and stayed the night. Bandon is a small town on the southern coast of the state. There are some stunning rock formations close to the shore worth checking out if you’re ever in the area. Our trip was about 270 miles (round trip) of gorgeous Oregon highways. While we rode I found myself thinking how lucky I am to have found a fun, smart and handsome scooting-loving man who makes me laugh.
Time is now running out quickly, with only about 73 hours left in Thailand before I leave for the shores of Hawaii. I may or may not log on again this weekend. But whether I do or don’t, I will disappear completely for at least a couple of weeks after this Sunday as I scramble to get settled in to some extent. Rest assured I’ll be back, complete with a change of location field.
I really like Kauai. It’s my favorite of the islands.
Thanks and no worries. Once I find an apartment, which needs to happen before the end of next month, registering to vote in Hawaii is one of the first things I’ll do. But in case of the unthinkably catastrophic, I’m still registered to vote in Texas.
Hey! Congratulations! My wife and I are renewing our vows as well on the 10th of August on the island of Bora Bora in French Polynesia after a stopover for a couple of days on Oahu.
My wife and I renewed our vows in the same old church in Princeton where we were married, after a stopover for a couple of minutes on Lalor Street in Trenton to pick up my best man. With our regular carload of kids and music gear. And we got new rings for the occasion: tungsten bands from Amazon for twenty bucks each.
Just messing with you :). My wife and I just aren’t much on big events, so this suited us fine. Besides, it’s a challenge doing anything beyond day to day life in a family of six.
We did celebrate our tenth anniversary in Rio de Janeiro in 2001. A huge number of family members were able to attend–few family members had been able to come to the USA for our wedding. It was a memorable event. Here we are cutting our 10th anniversary cake
Congratulations on such a cool milestone! Hope you have fun on Bora Bora!
