Johnny Angel (who I believe is now going by ignatiusjreilly), whatever happened to the girl you had that hot first kiss with last month? Are you still seeing her? Any more kisses like that you care to tell us about? Hey - I have to live vicariously through someone!

Kricket, how is your son recovering since he was hit by a car? Is he physically healing ok? How about mentally? Any justice yet for that nimrod that did this to him?

John Corrado, what did you decide to do about attending your reunion this summer? Are you gonna stay or are you gonna go?

Coldfire, have you tried out ebay yet, and did you ever find/bid on that TAG Heuer watch you wanted? If so, what kind of price did you get? (I’m nosey. So sue me. :))

SaxFace, did your friend Tommy ever agree to go on your road trip with you? If so, have you worked out an amicable arrangement for music selection? Found any Dopers along the route who you can meet up with? Decided about taking that job offer in Seattle?

Democritus, does your new Fantom suck, or what? Are you happy with it? Would you recommend it to other people? Like me?

CanadianSue, did you ever get rid of your rash? Find out what caused it? What remedy ultimately worked? (BTW, I just learned that you’re in Edmonton. My sister and BILaw live in Hinton and he grew up in Edmonton. Maybe you know him. Know any Sproules?)

tipiwoo, what was the ultimate diagnosis of your car problem? Was it the battery, the starter, the alternator? What?

Breckinshire, did you ever order one of those helicopter kits from the back of Popular Science? If you haven’t yet, have you picked one out and decided to do it or is it still a pipe dream?

A Girl, did you finish your 6-8 page thesis on time? Was it the 6-8 pages you needed it to be? How did it turn out? Have you gotten your grade back? How’d you do?

I just made a brief post in another thread, my first mention of our separation since it happened a tad over two months ago. I do this now 'cause at least one person feels I’m being deceitful and I believe he may post a thread about it.

I don’t know how it “got out” but there it is.

Chief, someone actually e-mailed you and told you he thought you were being deceitful because you did not explicitly share the intimate details of your life on the board? I read the post you referred to and I thought it was pretty self-explanatory without being too revealing. Who was this goon who e-mailed you? I’d like to give this person a piece of my mind! (Not that I can spare it…)

Joshua is doing well I know this because he is driving me crazy! That and the doctor said three more weeks in the cast and then on to physical therapy.
The discussion about the woman who hit him is going on in Matts’ thread in GD.

An update about the freak who was trying to snatch children in our area. Haven’t heard about anymore attempts for about a month, so hopefully he gave up.

Chief, I have only bumped into you and GBS a few times in different threads, and I don’t know about the heatherlee vs. Satan thing, but did you guys part on good terms? I hope so. You are both great people!

I never did find out what caused the rash but after a few days it was gone and so was the itch thank god!!! I tried some of the recommended remedies from here on the board. The oatmeal was gross but worked great. Thanks again everyone.

I used to work with a Sproule when I was with the government. Let me know the name and maybe its the same person. If I’m not mistaken it was a pretty high profile family in provincial politics.

Side note to Chiefy… its no one’s damn business what you and/or GBS are doing. Chin up and send me another post card will ya. My son took the other to show and tell and it was a a hit!!

Chief, I hope you weren’t thinking that I was asking for all the details, I am just hoping that all is well and wishing you both the best. Hopefully that makes my post clearer that I am not trying to dump salt in wounds or have you share your life with us. Just concerned about your guys happiness. Sorry.

And as for you EvilBeth, you beat me this time by 2 minutes! Ya’ know they do say that great minds think alike! How are things going for you at work?

Kricket–things at work are going okay right now. We have periods of quiet and peace and then out of nowhere, things will explode! I’m just waiting for the next explosion! (Thanks for asking!)

ChiefScott, of course that’s “'Nuff said,” hon. You didn’t need to share even that much. It’s always hard when relationships end, and especially difficult when both the relationship and the break-up are so public. Just know that your friends here at SD care about both of you and only want you both to be happy. I’m glad things were amicable and hope that the two of you can maintain at least the frienship that brought you together in the first place. Best of luck!

Kricket, I’m so glad to hear that Joshua’s doing so well since the accident. I haven’t been to GD in ages, so I’ve missed that topic up to now. I’ll head on over there and check it out. I wish him continued godspeed in his recovery. Thanks for the update!

Sue, thank goodness the rash went away relatively quickly. Good to know the oatmeal thing worked - I’ll definitely keep that in mind. And thanks to whomever suggested it. Just another reason to love this place so much.

My sister’s husband’s name is Malcolm, but he personally was never in any kind of government position (that I know of anyway). He’s in his early 40s, so I don’t know where that puts him in relation to your age. His father’s name was Fred, but I have no clue what he did for a living. I’ll call my sister today and ask her. Small world, eh?

Asmodeus, if you share a bit of your personal life with us and then leave us dangling as to the status, I will do my best to make sure that we ask about you in the next updates thread. Please don’t pout, k? :frowning:

Shayna, thanks for asking. I haven’t recieved it yet, but I (and my carpets) are anxiously awaiting it’s arrival. I may have to borrow one in the meantime, because I’m beginning to see the little particles of stuff building up on the rug! :wink:

Quicksilver, I know you were tyring to be clever, or funny, or cute, or whatever. Perhaps my sense-of-humor-suit is a bit frayed and tattered, but in spite of the winking smiley, I do kindof take offense at being called a meddlesome gossip. I’ve never talked gossip about people on this board and I don’t think asking people to follow up on things they, themselves, have posted about could really be considered meddlesome. I’m really only trying to be nice and show an interest in my fellow posters. They asked for our advice an/or input and then left us hanging about what the outcome was.

Perhaps you thought ‘yenta’ meant something else? Please tell me that’s not really what you think of me.

aha, I thought you had a nickle in your toidy. You mean your potty is like a bank and the longer you leave money in there, the more it grows? Wow, can I please come to your house? I’ve got a whole bunch of spare change in a jar in my bedroom. Maybe if I could get my pennies and nickles to turn into quarters and half-dollars, I could afford to buy that new sense-of-humor-suit I so desperately need. :wink:

UPDATE!
My puppy is named Tatertot YLF.
It is a combination of two suggestions from the Name my Dog thread.
Tatertot is self explanatory. And it just seems to fit.
YLF is from JohnLarrigans suggestion “getawayfrommyfeetyou yappylittleer. I just used the "yappylittleer” part.
I actually registered this as his legal AKC name.

Quicksilver: unless you are joking, I think you missed the spirit, or at least Shayna’s intent, behind the posts. There was another one like this a while back–people post stuff about their lives to MPSIMS, and don’t always follow up with how it all turned out. Shayna’s just expressing a friendly interest. I haven’t been the subject of any of these yet (as I kiddingly note above), but for myself, someone here taking an interest in me would be flattering.
I think your post was meant to be a joke, but I’m not sure. Course, it would help if I knew what “yenta” meant.

Aha–I’m glad Shayna asked–the last time I read that thread of yours, I thought “funny…wasn’t it a nickel?”. I was going to make a joke about your commode compounding interest, but Shayna beat me to it.

Also, may I politely suggest you’re spending too much time staring at your commode?

I’ve gotta ask: Shayna, have you ever been to England or Canada or whereever it is that they spell it “nickle”?

And now, in other news:

Lexicon finishes moving to Colorado Springs a month ago.

Recently, a New Mexico doper was delighted to find out that the girl he is in love with loves him back, and wanted to live with him.

He immediately put in for a transfer and moved all his worldly possessions into an apartment 400 miles away and moved his beloved in. Thus becoming a Colorado Doper.

Since moving, he has attended a Doper Debauch (Denver) and adjusted to the new environment.

Further, he has come to realize a few simple truths about living with a woman.

  1. You are the man, so you are never right. You are wrong, unless you’re right, in which case you are not technically right, but only less wrong. In which case, you are still wrong.

  2. No matter what you do, you don’t do anything. You never fix the lamp, or the phone, or the washing machine. You never wash the dishes or clean the kitchen, or sweep and mop the floors or take out the garbage, or pay the rent.
    Regardless of how many times you have done any of these things, you have never done them. If you say that you have in fact done these things, see truth number 1.

  3. You are totally inept at everything, and you can’t do anything. You need help to tie your shoes. You managed to transfer your job and get an apartment and move all your stuff to another state without a hitch, but you are still an idiot.

  4. In spite of all this, you are loved deeply by a great chic who knows she is under a lot of pressure and is very grateful that you are supporting her. She is sorry she is sometimes unappreciative.

  5. None of these things are really true truths (except number 4), only the way it seems when your girlfriend works 60 hours a week for free after a 70 mile commute.

  6. Life is good. Really good and it’s only getting better.
    So, after moving and having the first major spat, things are again going smoothly.
    Actually, it wasn’t really a major spat. For us it was, but that means that for most couples I know, it was just a minor conversation.

I snapped at her. She asked why. I said that I do a lot of stuff, and she never recognizes this. I said I felt unappreciated. She said lots of cool things and everything is all better now.

My new job is pretty cool. It’s with the same company at a different location. Different but the same, y’know?

That’s about all I have for updates.

I got a new computer desk.

I got a new pair of shorts. They’re pretty cool.

I am applying for a new position within my present company. This will entail a raise of about 10-15 grand a year, so I hope I get it, and so should you.

I am thinking of going back to school. When GF is done, it’s my turn. Only three months left. Woo-hoo!

I might get yet another computer. Hmmmmm.
So that’s the update.
