My old hiking buddy from 15 years ago in Utah was in the news. She donated her stem cells to a woman with leukemia and the woman went into remission. Can’t tear that down—no way, no how. Yesterday they met for the first time. Christmastime is that glorious time of year that always makes me wish that most of humanity would just get sucked up into outer space through a giant hose or something, but shit like this gives me a bit of optimism for our species, especially when it’s somebody I know.
