Happy Juneteenth!

On this date in 1865, the Blacks in Texas finally became free. The Emancipation Proclaimation (signed 2 1/2 years earlier) had never been officially enforced.

There is dabate today as to whether this day should be celebrated or not. Some believe it is a celebration of slavery while some believe it is a celebration of freedom. To each his own.

If you would like to read more about this day there is a world of information on this page:

As for me, why do I celebrate this day? Because it’s my birthday.

I’m going drinking now. I may see you tomorrow (I’m not as young as I used to be.)

Hey, Happy Birthday!

If I were there, I’d buy you a screaming orgasm (the shot).

{checking calendar} Oh God damn it, I missed Bloomsday again.

So did I … and I live in Dublin!

Ooops.

Happy B-Day JL. As for me, I’d support any holiday that warrants another day off of work…

. . . and Demo.

Bloomsday was awesome thankyouverymuch.

In Houston, they used to have an awsome blues festival at Miller Outdoor Theater. It may still go on, but the acts are more R&B now.
