Happy New Bitchfest!

Doctor appointment again tomorrow morning to get my A1C tested again. Nothing but water since 6pm tonight. Got a few other health issues to discuss as well. :frowning:

Now you tell me! :stuck_out_tongue: I did ask for primer in the paint. I’ll keep that in mind for future, I have more painting to do.

Not quite, but it’s a helluva lot brighter in here than it was.

I hope it goes better than you seem to be expecting. Good luck!

So I’ve noticed a bit of a gas/exhaust smell when I start my car in the morning, and it’s sounding a bit louder too. Ok, it’s 13 years old, so an exhaust leak somewhere is reasonable. So I start to look around and I can see that the exhaust manifold is cracked. It’s an easy fix, I’ve done it on my Ford Ranger before, where a cast iron manifold was about $70. It’s easy to access on my car, so I’m thinking a cheap and easy repair. So I go online to look for the part only to find out that the cheapest is $458.99!!!

WTF? So I look into it and it seems that Hyundai made the manifold and catalytic converter an integral part. In order to change a $70 manifold I also have to replace a $380 converter. Fuck you Hyundai. Fuck you.

We asked for a non-smoking house, and we got a house that someone had smoked in at some point - I am very, very familiar with Kilz as an odour-remover.

There are bedbugs in my office building, it’s just been reported. Not on my floor, but who knows how far they may spread? Now every little itch I feel, I start to worry that the bedbugs are attacking. Grrr.

How do you even get bedbugs in an office building? Do they just come out and bite people as you sit at your desk? Do Not Want!

It’s thought that members of the Great Unwashed public brought them in as passengers; they hopped off, unnoticed, and have since begun making themselves at home.

Ugh. I’m so disgusted with my province’s government. And now, apparently, they’d win a majority if an election were called now. Shit. Much as I love my city, I’m not entirely sure I want to live here anymore. But where else will I live?

I believe most people want that. If your house is smoking, it’s time to call the nice men in the red trucks.

You are most welcome to join me in Nofuckingpoliticiansotopia if you want

Time for duct tape?

Or a visit to the local Pick Your Part salvage yard.

It’s a big ol’ globe we all live on. But you have to pick your poison: here, for example, we have hot summers (not like you Aussies have been posting about, though!) and mostly mild winters, and while we have crazypants politicians (sigh) you can get deeeeeeelicious barbecue.

But if you want to move because you’re disgusted with your local politicos, TX may not be your best bet. :frowning:

Ohsweetzombiejeebus. Where are you FERREALS? And is the building mngmt. jumping on this?

itch scratch

How do you even fit mattresses into your cube?

Paid off my CC in December before Christmas. Then of course went nuts and ran it up even farther. Paid it off again on Friday. $1700 between the two months. Vowed not to touch it for at least a month. Signed on yesterday to look at the $0 balance and smile a bit.

Doctor appt this morning. Had been stressing out thinking my blood sugar was going to be over 7, my blood pressure was going to be high, etc. A1C was 6.1! Huzzah! BP was at the top end of the normal range! Woot!

So what does this have to do with that CC, and what is the rant here?

Yesterday about 4pm I hear the sound of water gushing. I turn around and it’s Maggie in the box, peeing against the side. A considerable amount. A little over an hour later, I’m dawdling at the bathroom sink and she comes in, squats down on the box looking very unhappy. Stood there like that for 2-3 minutes. Only went a couple of drops. Several more attempts last night, same results. In there this morning about every 15-20 minutes trying and each time only a couple of drops come out. Now I’ve been through this before, I know urinary issues are very serious for cats.

This morning after my appointment, I go see her doctor. Receptionist is very indifferent, tells me they’re booked up, but she’ll go talk to the Doc. Two minutes later comes back with a very different attitude and tells me to bring in the cat right away, they’ll make room to see her. Had her back there in 20 minutes. She punches everything in and hands me the bill. I sigh hard and visibly deflate. She gets all worried. “Oh, is there a problem? Are you going to be able to pay for this?” “Oh yeah, I can pay for it. It’s just that I paid off my credit card on Friday and promised I wouldn’t touch it for a month.” Which of course takes her straight into pitching me on THEIR credit card.

So I’m doing awesome, but Maggie is back in the kitty hospital. :frowning:

Oh yeah, and I got bitten twice last night by bedbugs. Still not seeing them anywhere. Had sprayed the crap out of my bed, cleaned everything, etc. Today I’m bagging both mattresses, washing sheets again and spraying the living fuck out of everything in sight.

Chimera, are you sure it’s not fleas?

Also: sorry about Maggie but I hope she’s ok. And I’m glad you have a CC with 0 balance so you can afford to take care of her!

Hope Maggie’s ok by now Chimera! Poor kitteh. Yeah that CreditCare thing is a big push for medical offices now. One more thing …

Who wants to join me in line? It’s the one under the “Welkommen to the People’s Republik of Nofuckingpoliticiansotopia” sign.

Come on over! We already have the basics (three farmers, two nurses, a bookstore clerk and a barista), but there’s always room for non-asswipes.
