At the bus stop this morning one of the local doughnut shops was handing out free samples, smothered in gloriously green icing, to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. They were going down a treat among the crowds. I’ve put mine aside to have a bit later. I don’t think I can face them quite this early in the morning.
That’s one of the drawbacks to telecommuting – I still get those e-mails sent to the entire department announcing things like “Yummy cupcakes for everyone in the break room!”
Not that a two-hour commute is really worth the occasional cupcake, but they’re still really tasty.
Well, I’ve just come from singing at the patronal mass at my parish (St Pat’s). The usual massive crowd was there, as were the maudlin tears during Hail Glorious Saint Patrick at the end.
