I missed this in theaters, but when I rented Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, I noticed that there may be visual references to Nosferatu.
The first is the dementors on the train, where we see the silhouette of one through a door and it has long fingers stretched out.
I also noticed a lot of exterior shots that reminded me of it. Several times that camera effect where it opens with a circle (sorry, I’m not describing this well…) appear, the effect was used a lot in Nosferatu. And one in particular where the camera was underneath an arch and looking at Hogwarts reminded me of looking at Count Orlock’s castle.
Am I imagining things, or does Harry Potter 3 contain visual references to Nosferatu?
