Okay, the one-book-per-year rate is long gone, a victim of fame and length. I can understand that. But at this rate, the movies are going to catch up long before the apocalyptic battle in which Harry defeats You Know Who. Yes, I know it’s unfair, she spends years now per book and we finish them in hours.
So, tell us, are there any good rumors as to when J.K. is going to get the 6th book out?
I think a reasonable guess is sometime next year, maybe when the next movie comes out, which will be Christmas 2005.
But there’s no projected date scheduled, so who knows really? I do know she has less interruptions from fame and movie commitments than she did during the last one. And she’s been working on it since about December 2003.
Not really all that helpful, but it sounds like the end is in sight. I’d say next winter/spring if they rush the publication schedule is the soonest we could possibly see it. I think that’d puts her on schedule to just barely stay ahead of the movies by finishing book 7 before movie 6 comes out and movie 7 starts pre-production.
Well, it’s not news on a release date, but a title - supposedly confirmed through jkrowling.com, but I haven’t found it yet - the link below has directions to where it’s supposed to be though. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
I’m kind of doubtful, but maybe it’s true.
Ok, I found it (I was having trouble with the bricks behind the door), so I believe it now. I don’t like the title at the moment, but perhaps I will once the book comes out.
OK, let’s speculate. I assume “half-blood” means someone who was born of a Muggle parent and a Wizard parent. But I don’t think any wizard royalty have been mentioned previously. Is this an existing character or a new one? My guess is probably a new one.
Perhaps it’s Mark Evans? He was mentioned only briefly in Order of the Phoenix as someone Dudley liked to beat up on. Since his last name is Evans, there’s a possiblity that he’s a relation to Petunia and Lily Evans, and therefore to Harry. He might start his first year at Hogwarts (if he’s going to be a character) in the sixth book.
It could be a possibility, but the ‘Prince’ part in the title makes me think that may not be it. It seems it’d be royalty of some sort, and I’d think Evans wouldn’t be getting all beat up if he were actually royalty and Harry would have been told something about his mother’s royal past.
I think it’ll be a new character entirely. It should be interesting though… I wonder if the Half-Blood Prince will be targeted by Voldemort as being all that is wrong with the wizarding world.
Just a theory: Maybe Harry is the Half-Blood Prince? We know he’s a half-blood, and maybe the plot will revolve around whether he’s some sort of magical royalty.
My guess is that there’s some prophecy about a half-blood prince that Voldemort thought (or still thinks) he’d fulfill and now Harry appears poised to do so.
