I’m about 3/4 of the way through and I would say mixed opinions. Of course I’m hindered by only reading it, not seeing it, which for a script makes a huge difference.
I’ll forego spoilers for the OP but they’re welcome afterwards. I’ll be back, when I’v finished the book.
I was disappointed at how few new characters there were: it’s basically GOBLET OF FIRE meets BACK TO THE FUTURE. However, it was nice seeing some former beloved and behated characters, and there were a couple of nice twists.
I would love to see how some of the stunts described are performed, and I’m guessing the Draco-Harry duel would be a lot more exciting in person than its two page coverage.
Just finished it a couple of hours ago. I liked it. It was nice to see some old familiar characters again, and I liked the fact that Albus actually acted like a real teen with daddy issues.
I hope I have a chance to see it at some point. I think it will be quite a show.
I would love to see it performed. The thing that jumped out at me most on the first read is that it is a very technology-dependent production.
I identified the Big Bad by its second appearance.
I’m not sure how poignant or even understandable it would be to an audience who hadn’t read the books or seen the movies.
I’m still pondering the rest. I liked it, but I’m not sure I 100% approve.
(An irritating number of reviewers have criticized the fact that it is a script and therefore different from a book. Folks, this was not a case of false advertising.)
Yeah, me too, actually. Last night I was watching the second Deathly Hallows movie, and when I saw him and Bellatrix together, all I could think of what what it must have been like to be a fly on the wall when those two were gettin’ busy.
You do know that she was married to someone else, right? And a fellow Death Eater, at that? Not saying that Death Eaters are likely to have the same ideas of morality that most folks do, but I find it hard to believe that if Voldemort had any erotic interest in Bellatrix, no Death Eater would have dared put himself potentially between the two of them.
