From reading this thread, and following Sweetum’s link, I have a question about Harry & Voldemort, I didnt want to put it in the other thread as it would be a complete hijack away from the original subject.

From this site one of the facts that are to be dealt with in book six is the reason why Harry and Voldemort didnt die when Voldemort tried to kill Harry and his spell backfired.
Did anyone else think this had already been dealt with in the previous books? I had thought that the obvious reason Harry didnt die was because Lily died to save him.
I had then assumed that the reason Voldemort didnt die was because he had not meant to kill himself, his spell simply backfired but it wasnt powerful enough to kill him, instead he simply passed some of his powers over to Harry.
I thought that was it, but apparently now, according to that link, theres something more, anyone spculating on what it might be?

[spoiler]I, too, thought Dumbledore explained pretty definitely that Lily’s loving sacrifice is what caused Voldemort’s curse to rebound on himself, and continues to offer Harry protection. Then in GoF, when Voldemort is doing the whole explain-the-entire-dastardly-plot-to-the-victim-before-you-kill-him schtick, he talks about all the dangerous experiments and spells he had tried in his quest for immortality, and how at least one of them must have worked, since he didn’t die the night he tried to kill Harry.
The way I understand it, Lily’s love continues in Harry’s blood (and also in Petunia’s blood, which is why he’s safe from Voldemort at his aunt and uncle’s house) and that is why Voldemort couldn’t touch him until GoF when Wormtail used some of Harry’s blood in the potion to bring Voldemort back. But then in OotP, when Voldy tries to possess Harry at the MoM, he is driven out when Harry feels a wave of love towards Sirius. If any old love is enough to send Voldy screaming into the night, then why is Lily’s love that Harry presumably still carries suddenly null and void?[/spoiler]
