Has a a celebrity's heterosexuality surprised you?

Just like America!

Makeup artist Napoleon Perdis(owns the Napoleon makeup brand) is married with 4 kids.

Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalliis also married.

I don’t think many straight people go to America. >_>

Living with the cutest of the Bananaramas certainly makes up for being second fiddle through the most prominent part of his music career.

Tony Randall was married to some reclusive woman no one ever saw, during WWII, I believe. After she died, he married a young chick very late in life and they had two kids, as has been mentioned. I only mention this again because I saw him on a talk show before he passed away and he was talking about being a father. And he said “it’s…just…wonderful!” and it was SO touching, the way he marvelled at this experience even at that late date, I swear he had a tear in his eye describing his late joy. I can’t be sure because I was sobbing into a hankie…

Not with each other, I hope.

Just thought of another one: Michael Caine. Always kind of got the gay vibe from him, but nope.

It’s like the rule that everyone in New York is a little bit Jewish. Everyone in San Francisco is a little bit gay. Except Dirty Harry.

Ty Pennington has never come out to my knowledge, but I haven’t checked in a while

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned it elsewhere, but I was surprised to learn that John Lithgow isn’t gay.

There’s some evidence against this.

It’s not exclusively gay though, plus being in theater he probably had a lot of gay friends who’d invite him over.

Another member of Bananarama married the man from the Eurythmics.

True enough- I have no knowledge of Tony Randall’s personal life, and won’t make any blanket assertions.

I just point out that Randall’s wives and kids don’t prove he was straight any more than his regular visits to Fire Island prove he wasn’t.

Sinead O’Connor always set off my “gaydar”. She has a daughter.

Yeah, that was me. I’m still floored.

Come on. The man was married twice and had a couple of kids.

Sinead O’Connor, however, is gay.

Look, if gays aren’t allowed to marry, I’m pretty sure they aren’t allowed to be celebrities!

She has, depending on the era, identified as a lesbian at certain times in her life. She doesn’t identify as hetero in any case, even though she’s had some substantial relationships with men.

It’s interesting to read about how you straight guys’ gaydar has given you mixed results. Some of you have thought people were gay, then found out otherwise . . . when I would never have considered them gay in the first place.

As I’ve said all along: only gay people have reliable gaydar . . . and not even all of us.
