Lebowski fest is coming to Chicago soon. The film is one of my top-five favorites of all time, ever. I’d really like to go. But, for some reason, I really despise “crowd interaction” with films a-la the Rocky Horror or Troll 2 phenomena. For some reason, I just find it to be the absolute nadir of grating, irritating and unfunny nerddom.
I imagine the audience will be lively. But the thing is, if they’re just shouting the existing lines, I’ll be TOTALLY cool with it. I mean the idea of 1300 people doing a
simultaneous “SHUT THE FUCK UP, DONNY” could be the greatest thing EVER.
But, on the other hand, if there are all sorts of Rocky Horror-esque “fan-created” lines to yell - things that aren’t dialogue, but are fan-canon like, l don’t know, “WATCH OUT FOR THAT SOAP!” when the dude gets in the tub, then I might possibly have an aneurysm.
What’s the story?
