We covered this back in 2005 but that was 20 years ago.
I’ve been a couple of times, way back when it was a offered as a perk for Pac Bell service anniversary parties. It was cool getting to have the “exclusive” experience (being able to order booze was a plus). It was good, but I enjoyed dining at the Blue Bayou more.
Went in 2010. It was mostly fun because of the novelty of getting through the “secret” entrance into someplace we’d never seen before. The food was very good but not Michelin star by any means.
Most memorable thing about the experience was that a fire alarm went off and all customers and staff had to wait outside for a while. In the rain.
I’ve been twice, both in the 2000s (I think). First time, mrs.gnu won an auction for a group of six. My parents and her mother and sister came with. I decided to try the veal, and it was fantastic. We got a tour of the place, great time all around… until my mother-in-law decided she wasn’t the center of attention and threw a toddler tantrum. At least that was at the end of the evening. (Bonus points - on our way in, dressed to the nines, we ran into a guy we were both frenemies with in high school. He was a cast member while trying to make it as an actor.)
Second time it was just the two of us. Overall a pleasant experience, but the food wasn’t as good. The Fess Parker Club 33 wine was amazing, though.
Closest time was in 2012, when my family won a sleepover in the Disney Dream Suite. The concierge brought us up a service elevator, the entrance to which required us to walk through the sous kitchen of the club.
I can attest that Disneyland with a bottle of Tequila is a whole nuther Magic Kingdom!
I hadn’t heard of the Dream Suite. Looking at photos I guess we dream about 1800’s Paris. Or at least Walt did. It’s now 21 Royal, “…an exclusive dining experience for up to twelve guests per night” No more sleeping over.
